Cheers, Readers! This recipe is my own version of my dear friend Greg’s favorite whiskey drink, what he calls a “Back Forty.” Try it for yourself!
For one drink, I juice a half an apple, a full lime, and a half a lemon. Pour the juice into a cocktail shaker over ice. Add an ounce and a half of whiskey, my favorites are Maker’s Mark or Bulliet, a squeeze of agave nectar, and a dash of orange bitters. Shake, shake, shake…

From the road trip archives! One of my favorite things about driving through or staying in a new place is checking out the local coffee shops. Here in SoCal, it’s SO difficult to find anywhere other than Starbucks.
I think my favorite coffee shop that we saw between here and Corvallis was this little drive-thru place called The Human Bean. The girl who made us our drinks was so friendly, and with every cup, you get a coffee bean candy!! So sweet.
